Tire Rack Street Survival April 28th, 8:30AM-4:30PM at DMACC in Ankeny

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.

It’s about more than driving – it’s about LIVING!

Three parents, including Scott Goodyear, former Indy Car Champion, share their perspectives in this video.

All Schools $125.

BMW Informal Social – Pyra Pizzeria, Norwalk, IA at 6:30 pm – April 9

Pyra was the name of a little settlement just south of Des Moines that became what today is known as the City of Norwalk.  Though our restaurant building doesn’t go quite as far back as Pyra the village, it is nearly 120 years old, and so our name serves as a tribute to our past, and to the history of our hometown.  In keeping with the historical theme we have created at Pyra, we serve Traditional Neapolitan pizza, or Pizza Napoletana; a style of pizza created in Naples, Italy more than a century ago.

BMW CCA driving schools are designed to teach drivers how to safely improve their driving abilities and explore their cars’ capabilities. Students, using their own cars, get one-on-one instruction from experienced instructors. Our overriding emphasis is on safety, and safely learning how to control the car in emergency and higher performance conditions. The school is conducted on a paved, closed, and controlled course to minimize risk to persons and equipment. HPDE instruction is not a racing school, practice or preparation for racing, and it is not a timed, competitive event or speed contest. Even though we try to minimize risk, there is an inherent risk of damage to your car and injury to yourself. Please be certain that you are willing to accept this risk before registering for the school.
