Fall Colors Tour by Drew Hillman
Join us for our popular, annual, dual state, overnight fall color tour. The drive will be October 10 – October 11. We will meet in Mount Pleasant, Iowa at noon for lunch at the Press Box Bar and Grill.
To reach some new roads to explore, we will depart from Mount Pleasant, Iowa and head south to Hannibal, Missouri. We will drive along the Mississippi River for approximately two and a half hours before arriving at Hannibal, where you can view landmarks such as the boyhood home of Mark Twain, the Mark Twain cave complex, and the stunning Rock Cliffe Mansion.
We will be dining together on the Mark Twain Riverboat cruse (www.marktwainriverboat.com) that will feature sliced beef or a baked chicken entrée. Sights included on the cruise include Jackson’s Island, Lover’s Leap, and a commentary on the river’s history and legends.
A group rate has been arranged under BMW Car Club of Iowa at the newest hotel in Hannibal, the Sleep Inn (573-221-1500). Reservations must be made by October 1 to get the group rate. After calling the hotel to arrange for the room, an email to the drive coordinator (andrewyhillman@gmail.com) is requested so your presence will be accounted for, and reservations can be made for dinner.
Be sure to join us as we explore Iowa and Missouri in the Fall!
We are going to meet up at the Press Box Grill & Bar at noon, 1110 W Washington St, Mt Pleasant, IA 52641.
