Planning is underway for this year’s Fall Colors Tour, under the guidance of Warren Byerly. We’ll start mid-morning on Saturday, October 16 at the Meskwaki Casino parking lot near Tama, taking a tour route through northeast Iowa and then overnighting in Dubuque. The Saturday lunch stop has not been nailed down yet, but watch for something with local color, so to speak! Saturday night’s dinner has been reserved at Timmerman’s in East Dubuque. A Sunday morning drive will bring us back down the Mississippi River before participants break off for their home areas.
Some of the details are still being finalized, but we encourage all potential participants to get Dubuque lodgings lined up now if you think you might want to participate. Fall Colors season is always busy, but this year will book up especially early with the return of visitors who were not able to travel last year. We will not have a single hotel with a room block; instead here are a few ideas for possible stays that we’ve used in the past. Some of these properties are already partially booked up, so don’t delay!
