Video game, Chili social

In the winter, you definitely have less chance to take the BMW for a good joy ride, let alone on the track. However, we have a way to get you on the track without ever strapping on a helmet.

We are hosting the video game chili social again this Dec. 1 at 12 p.m. at the Grimes Community Complex, 410 SE Main St., Grimes, where there will be a variety of games available for every level player. Using the game Forza 4 you can actually drive on the Road America track. Have you never made it to Germany to venture the Nurburgring? Take a lap around without buying a plane ticket.

The less video-game-savvy can have a blast ramming into other players on Mario Kart. We plan to have games playing on a projector, multiple flat screen TVs and a smaller TV. Everyone of all ages is welcome to attend, and will find something that fits their entertainment or racing tastes.

Also, to stay warm, we are going to have a chili cook-off. Bring your favorite recipes, with or without that secret ingredient. We’ll provide all utensils and outlets for the crock-pots. If you don’t want to bring chili, you can buy dessert treats or even non-perishable items that we will donate to the local food pantry.

We hope to see you this year. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at newsletter@bmwia.org .
